The brief
Suomen Somali Insinöörit ry is a new association in Helsinki for engineers, students and technology professionals with a Somali background. The site had to bridge two worlds: the Finnish technology sector and a community that shares the same experience. And in the languages the members and the people around them actually speak.
The approach
- Four languages. Finnish, English, Swedish and Somali, each with the right language signals for search engines.
- Only verified figures. The site says it plainly: a number is shown only once it has been checked. No inflated member counts.
- A clear structure. Four areas of activity (mentoring, networking, community and professional development), events, news, and membership you apply for in one step.
- Accessible. A header video you can pause, an arch-shaped frame and clear contrast.
The result
Measured with Lighthouse on 18 September 2026:
- 100 for best practices.
- 96 for accessibility.
- 94 for performance on desktop.
