Pricing

What does a website cost in 2026?

Starting prices, where the cost actually sits, what you pay monthly, and the five questions to ask before you sign.

A facade of identical windows, every bay the same size.

Published

A website for a small business costs from € 1,400 here for a single page and from € 2,400 for five to seven pages, excluding VAT. What you pay elsewhere varies wildly, and it is almost never because of the design.

Where the price actually sits

Five things decide what a site costs. The rest is noise.

  1. The number of pages. One good page is faster than seven, and for many freelancers one page is enough.
  2. The words. Who writes them? Supplying your own is free and costs you time; having them written costs money and costs you nothing.
  3. The number of languages. Every extra language is a second site to maintain, even when the layout stays the same.
  4. What the site has to do. A contact form is not the same thing as a calendar, a member area or a shop.
  5. Findability. Structure, speed and schema belong in it from day one. Bolting them on later always costs more.

What it costs here

Start is € 1,400 for one page, ready in a week. Business is € 2,400 for five to seven pages, ready in two to three weeks. Both include a CMS, so you change text and photos yourself without calling me. The full list is on the pricing page.

What is not included is written down too: copywriting (€ 250 per page), photography, logo design and shops.

Then what? The monthly side

A site is not a one-off purchase. There is hosting, a domain name and updates. Here that is € 79 a month, cancellable monthly, including hosting, domain, backups, security and half an hour of small changes.

On any quote, look at two numbers: the amount up front and the amount per month over three years. The second number is where cheap sites get expensive. One example I work out on the pricing page: € 5,000 up front plus € 150 a month is € 10,400 over three years.

What to ask before you sign

  • Who owns the site? Domain, hosting, code and content should be yours, and transferable.
  • How long am I tied in? Three years is common with "free" websites. That is where the discount lives.
  • Who builds it? Are you talking to the person who makes it, or to an account manager?
  • What does a change cost? Paying per change is a subscription with extra steps.
  • What happens if I leave? A site you cannot take with you was never yours.

Why I work with fixed prices

Because a quote is only worth something once there is a number in it. You get a free preview of your new homepage first, then a price, and only then do you pay anything. If it does not fit, it has cost you nothing.
